Fashionably Late
Karmaloop, the world’s premier streetwear website, and Boston Ballet, one of the most recognized ballet companies in the world, present Fashionably Late at The Liberty Hotel on Thursday, September 17, 2009.
Combining a unique mix of dance, fashion and music, Fashionably Late, will be the talked about event on the Boston fashion circuit this fall.
Fashionably Late begins at 8pm with a reception and cocktails in the main lobby, while Boston’s very own, globally renowned DJ, Clinton Sparks, spins along with The Liberty’s resident DJ Michael Savant.
The fashion show takes place from 10pm - 11pm, featuring a one-of-a-kind performance by Boston Ballet dancers on pointe. Each dancer will be styled in clothing and accessories by Karmaloop and costumes from the Boston Ballet wardrobe department. Throughout the evening guests will get a first look at Boston Ballet’s new brand design by creative partner Korn Design and preview Boston Ballet’s extensive repertoire on video.
The world famous electro-rock act, Chester French will perform a live set directly following the fashion show. Dancing and drinks will close out this extravagant night of ballet and fashion!
“The Liberty Hotel, Boston Ballet and Karmaloop open the doors on September 17 for a unique glimpse at the intersection of dance, fashion, and the culture of Boston,” said Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen. “We are excited to share this evening with these two innovative leaders and provide guests with an unprecedented experience.”
Fashionably Late was created in an effort to fuse fashion, music, and art in an interactive way. This event will give Bostonians the opportunity to mingle with Boston Ballet company dancers, explore upcoming fashion trends, while dancing all night. Hair and makeup for Boston Ballet dancers will be provided by Mizu Salon of Boston and New York City.
