Kay, Cut-Out:

“Started in summer 2008 and releasing the first proper collection Spring/Summer 2009, Cut-Out is an independent DIY print studio, designing, making and selling clothing and jewellery amongst other things from my West Midland’s home.

Cut-Out products can be purchased from Cut Uut Shop and are currently stocked at the Here Shop and Gallery; Bristol, Here and Now; Falmouth and Kate&Tristan; London.

Cut-Out has also been picked up by French fashion blog Madmoizelle, recently featuring on it’s must-have buys pages for two consecutive weeks.

I also cater for commissions, printing merchandise for many bands around the UK as well as further a field, quickly gaining a well-respected reputation for both DIY ethics and well-printed products.

At the moment I am collaborating with Created in Birmingham with a charity fundraiser and in the future would like to collaborate more with artists and designers- having already used designs by illustrator Marcroy Smith and printmaker Gwilym Neeld.

Already I aim for Cut-Out’s Autumn/Winter 09 collection to feature designs by illustrators Lee Nutland and Aaron Miller”.
