Cameesa

September 29th, 2008

Cameesa is an online clothing startup based out of Chicago.

Cameesa

Their users, through crowdfunding, decide which designs they print. Once a design is submitted to Cameesa, it must raise 50 Parts in $20 increments in order to be printed.

Cameesa

Once 100% supported, the people who supported the design, and the artist, get a special edition of the shirt and earn when it is sold.

Cameesa

The idea with Cameesa is to get more people involved in the clothing creation process, and empower artists to get their work printed. Unlike other t-shirt sites, there is no voting on our site, they use crowdfunding to drive their decisions.

Foot Locker and adidas Celebrate the Originals

Launching in the UK nationwide from 22nd September, adidas and Foot Locker team up once more to explore the adidas Originals’ heritage. These unique models have been symbols of popular culture over the years, but this season they have received a very special makeover.

Foot Locker and adidas Celebrate the Originals

The Lenticular sneaker collection consists of two classic silhouettes, the ever popular Superstar, the classic Decade Low and their new friend, ZX Country. The unique use of lenticular material on these silhouettes provides a 3D hologram effect where different elements seem to be closer.

Foot Locker and adidas Celebrate the Originals

The graphics are inspired by the adidas history and pay tribute to the brand’s sports heritage, while highlighting adidas Originals as a modern lifestyle and fashion brand. With several different designs for each silhouette, every fan can find the sneaker that suits them best.

Foot Locker and adidas Celebrate the Originals

Three Superstar models appear with an unexpected twist in black and white, yet stay true to the shoe’s heritage keeping the classic look of the original. The unique Lenticular treatment is placed on the back-end of the side panels and heel. The forefront of the side panels is executed in rich black leather with contrasting signature stripes, shell toe and midsole in sparkling white. This modern classic is definitely among the best buys of the season.

Foot Locker and adidas Celebrate the Originals

The Decade sneakers are the definitive must haves for the season ahead. With a bold combination of a lenticular material upper, bright yellow leather toe cap and signature stripes, this classic silhouette oozes contemporary street style.

Foot Locker and adidas Celebrate the Originals

The last model in the Lenticular collection is the ZX Country, presented in a black, slim fitting and low profile silhouette with the edgy addition of lenticular material on the heel counter and side panels. The shoe stays true to its luxurious style with a soft-touch material used on the toe cap and signature stripes, further complemented by the high quality leather on lace vamp, heel and toe cap. Whether you are going to a party or just strolling on the street, the ZX Country will make sure all eyes are on you.

Foot Locker and adidas Celebrate the Originals

Last but not least, the Originals sneakers will be topped by the exclusive men’s – and a Foot Locker premiere - women’s apparel collection “Chile62“. To complete the look of the Lenticular sneakers and make your outfit truly original, the sleek “Chile62” collection guarantees attention from head to toe. It’s retro yet futuristic design is inspired by the memorable 1962 Chile Soccer World Championship - a stylish marriage of the modern and the classic.

Draw Limited

September 22nd, 2008

Draw Limited began its start back in 2006 when a simple idea about selling t-shirts was tossed around between the two partners of the company, Jordan Roland and Sarah Roberts. It wasn’t until earlier this year, 2008, the idea was really put to action and with the help of friends and others the company has become what it is today.

Draw Limited

On September 13, 2008 the company launched it’s first line of tees along with their website, and it’s just the beginning.

Draw Limited

What Draw bases its tee desings around are doodles and other “throw away” art to which most people only see a silly sketch done out of boredom to pass the time. On the contrary, the partners who created Draw see something so much more and want to showcase this realm of art.

Draw Limited

Every few months a theme will be released by the company to which people can send in their doodles relating to the theme posted on their website. The theme for their first line was Halloween in which Jordan and Sarah asked people to doodle in their spare time an array of monsters. Rightly dubbed “Monsters Are Real“, the first three tee designs were chosen by vote from doodles people submitted and limitedly printed onto shirts. Though not all the doodles submitted could be made into shirts, an art gallery on their site displays the array of monsters that people drew.

The owners of Draw Limited have high hopes for the future of their company. To give back to the arts and keep it up in schools across the U.S., Jordan and Sarah plan to begin donating a certain amount of money for each submitted drawing they receive per theme. They also hope to show people that they are artists, no matter what mainstream tells them what’s good and what’s bad.

Being huge and successful isn’t a priority in the minds of the pair, instead it’s that they grow to have a loyal bases of customers and that the customers find they are themselves a part of the company.

Global Goodie

September 19th, 2008

Designer, engineer and entrepreneur, Kim Lim, is a single mother of two sons and a staunch advocate of cultural awareness, education and diversity. Her boys, one of which is adopted, represent five cultures combined. Wanting her children to value global ideas, Kim thought back to a Duck Soup t-shirt she adored as a child and, after searching for one for her eldest son without any luck, decided to design her own.

Global Goodie

One thing led to another and, today, Kim Lim owns an entire line of cuisine-inspired t-shirts, onesies and bibs for kids. Kim’s original designs help little ones understand and embrace all cultures and foods of the world, from Charming Chinese, Fabulous French and Filipino Frenzy to Hungry Hawaiian, Jumpin’ Japanese, Middle Eastern Munchies, Sizzling Soul Food and Spicy Spanish.

Global Goodie

Thrilled that nostalgia for her favorite t-shirt and a love for food turned into a fun and educational clothing line, Kim explains, “I like to think that Global Goodie products are just as special as the cuisines they represent and the kids that wear them. I hope that our tees, onesies and bibs open children’s eyes to new cultures through all the yummy foods just waiting to be tasted. In today’s society, children’s fashions are not limited to the latest trends. I think fashionable youth appreciate and respect all cultures. Global Goodie is a clothing line for families that are excited to teach their children cultural awareness while having some fun.”

Global Goodie

In addition to being a full-time mom and running the Global Goodie business, Kim recently founded Ultimate Labs, a microbiological testing and environmental monitoring firm in San Diego, CA for the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and forensic industries. With a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Engineering and Applied Science and two Masters degrees in the works, this minority businesswoman stepped into the world of biotechnology and surpassed all expectations. Not your typical engineer, Kim has a creative bent which she channels through Global Goodie.

Global Goodie

Launched in October of 2006, the Global Goodie clothing line includes 6-month and 12-month onesies, 2T-4T t-shirts, and bibs, all screen printed with original designs drawn by Kim. Intended to open children’s eyes to new cultures through yummy foods, the adorable line features cuisines such as Caterpillar Rolls, Paella, Escargot, Sweet ‘n’ Sour Chicken, Kalua Pig, Black Eyed Peas, Lechon, Lamb Kabob, and Shark Fin’s Soup. Prices range from $10 to $30.

INDVSL

September 19th, 2008

INDVSL just released a new design entitled “Life Cycles” in all of your favorite fall colors.

INDVSL

The design features Daryll Peirce’s signature arterial-botanic city organisms growing from the cracks of a sidewalk, challenging man’s claims of control over social systems, habitat and nature.

INDVSL

The design is printed using a soft opaque process with soy-based inks on organic tees.

INDVSL

This gives the entire 100% Fine Jersey cotton garment a vintage, soft-to-the-touch feel, while remaining highly durable wash after wash. It’s available in mens and womens tees as well as womens scooped boat-neck cap-sleeve tops in various autumnal colors.
