Fresh Produce Threads

December 20th, 2007

Fresh Produce Threads was founded by 3 musicians (1 singer/songwriter and 2 hiphop producers).

Alex, Fresh Produce Threads :

“Long before Fresh Produce Threads existed, we always referred to new music that we created as “fresh produce”.

Fresh Produce Threads

Our designs are inspired by the imagery of music and its various cultures. We incorporate this musical imagery into artwork that also intertwines the traditional meaning of “fresh produce”.

Fresh Produce Threads

We got our start selling handprinted shirts out of actual produce and vegetable crates at street markets/fairs and at local live rock/hiphop shows in the Washington DC area.

Fresh Produce Threads

With more success, we were able to sponsor a few shows, and eventually we moved our produce online at Fresh Produce Threads and also on Alway surban. We still try to sell in our local market whenever possible”.

Do u know Aerosoul ?

December 19th, 2007

Aerosoul was born in 1998, inspired primarily by the burgeoning uk underground Jungle, Breakbeat , Soul and Hip-Hop scene, of which its founder Leke Adesoye is a huge enthusiast. London born Leke, trained at the London College of fashion.

As a Drum n Bass and Hip-Hop fanatic, he sought to capture that energy by incorporating his passion for music with fashion, hence the foundation of Leke’s early Aerosoul designs, such as the now infamous two decks “Junglist Movement” T-shirt.

For 10 years Aerosoul has brought quality street wear to a discerning market. From humble beginnings, the label has evolved from a favourite on the UK club scene to an internationally recognised brand.

Aerosoul

From the outset Leke employed both legendary and up-and-coming names from the urban music scene to represent the brand. These models have included. Omar, Roots Manuva, Robert Owens, Don:e, Damage, Rodney P, Skitz, Zion I, Ty, A Guy Called Gerald, Normski, Skinnyman, Bryan g , Domu Steve “the 4orce” Ellington, Paradox, John B, A.I, Alix Perez, and Ill Logic & Raf. Plus many more.

Aerosoul

But in truth, the brand has been rocked by a diverse array of celebrities from the cast of tv series Hollyoaks, Groove Armada, The Boo Radleys, London Elektricity to diva model “Sophie Anderson”. Proving Aerosoul’s broad appeal to all genres of music from indie to commercial. Aerosoul was resently featured in the british gangsta flick “Deadmeat” and the 300% cotton t-shirt graphics book by Laurence king publishing.

Aerosoul

The Junglist Movement design took on its own momentum and infamy when it featured in the hit cult 90,s Brit flick “Human Traffic”. As worn by koop the vinyl pusher. More designs were quickly added to the Aerosoul portfolio. As Leke expanded his collection to include the Women’s wear line “Soulero Sista” (feminine wear 4 urban livin) bringing a much-needed feminine dimension to UK streetwear. The later addition of A.S.Xtreme sports was inspired by the skating and snowboarding fraternity. But worn by dedicated armchair athletes alike. Incorporating new print technologies including raised high-build gel prints.

Aerosoul

Throughout Aerosoul’s history the response from the media has been hugely positive. The label has received expansive features in publications, radio and television. coverages Such as the BBC, MTV, C4, E4, Trouble, Radio1, Ministry of Sound, Drum & Bass Arena, Metro, Time Out, Rwd, ES Mag, Bliss, The Voice, Trace, J17, Mizz, Atm mag, Knowledge Mag, Touch mag, Trace, Urb mag, FHM and Front mag to name a few.

Aerosoul

Leke also continues to pursuit his thriving DJ career, and remains a much sought after guest both in the UK and across Europe. His most recent stints have included DJ sets for Phatfarm, Rocawear, Mecca, Journey Shoes, Movement and Oxfam,s Make-Poverty-History launch parties. Aerosoul recently compiled its first music compilation - “Soul:Control” (Sounds–Of–Underground–London) featuring exclusive tracks from Aerosoul’s sponsored artist rota.

For Immediate Release at B/D

December 18th, 2007

Sasha, Beautiful/Decay :

Beautiful/Decay is proud to present the latest season of our Artists Series Apparel Line at Agenda. Though the line originally debuted with just four shirts, our 2007 series of apparel has more than quadrupled in size, to encompass a broad range of new artists, designs and styles.

Beautiful/Decay

As usual, we will be launching a whole series of T-shirts that B/D Apparel fans have come to know and love, by previously featured artists such as Skwak, as well as new designs by Drew Liverman.

Beautiful/Decay

We are also excited to present our latest addition to the rapidly growing Beautiful/Decay apparel line: four brand new reversible hoodies that feature cutting-edge prints on both the exterior and interior. The hoodies are meticulously designed as an entirely cohesive garment- down to the custom details, such as a B/D zipper pull, embroidery, interior and exterior pockets, and B/D logo. The above “Fletcher” design was a knock-out best seller at the trade fairs.

Beautiful/Decay

In addition, we are debuting an exclusive line, Aya Kato + Beautiful/Decay, which features Japanese artist Aya Kato’s hauntingly beautiful imagery. Her visually stunning sixteen piece collection incorporates imagery ranging from bold dreamscapes, striking scenery filled with fluid architecture, enticing women and supremely detailed foliage. (To buy the new holiday season, visit our online shop).

Since our inception, we’ve made it our goal to promote both emerging and established artists alike through our publication and now, our clothing line. Beautiful/Decay is a constantly evolving endeavor and will continue to encompass many new collaborative projects with a cross-section of visual talents”.

Glass Boutique

December 8th, 2007

Glass Boutique is an independent e-tailer aiming to make exciting new Menswear Collections from around the globe easily available to fashion-conscious shoppers in the UK.

Glass Boutique

Lis, Glass Boutique :

“We have currently focused on Scandinavia as there are interesting, yet very wearable ranges coming out of countries such as Sweden and Denmark. So we’ve cherry-picked a selection of labels to represent the most important aspects of menswear: cutting edge designs balanced with wearability, tradition and craftsmanship.

Glass Boutique

From brands such as Won Hundred from Denmark, offering a very smart and fashion-forward range, to Fjallraven heralding from Sweden, making functional and classic outerwear.

We also have S.N.S Herning, a very traditional knitwear company that has become incredibly popular in Japan. Interestingly enough S.N.S has achieved this despite having only three employees and still making their garments on vintage 1930s knitting machines.

They most recently also collaborated with Dover Street Market in London.

Glass Boutique

To support these lesser known brands we have chosen what we believe are some of the best and most interesting collections around: Edwin’s Japanese selvage denim has been the bestselling jean brand in Japan since 1981 and is still influencing all the different fits and washes you see in fashion stores today.

In addition, we’ve taken on London based Pointer, showcasing a new, more sophisticated and grown up take on casual footwear. Complimented by Anderson’s Italian belts; hand finished and made in Parma by trained leather artisans.

Glass Boutique

The brands that we’ve included in the line up for Glass Boutique’s launch this Christmas, all together highlights the most important elements in Menswear today. These are collections we feel are both innovative and fun and yet wearable and accessible. And that most importantly, will also be the base for a great shopping experience”.
